I'm American and I always look closely at the person who says they "love their country". The phrase once was said with innocence but today is parroted by sunshine patriots who use it to brand others with hateful slogans and epithets and those who wrap themselves in the flag to hide their treasonous games. I probably said it earlier in life when I thought my country was true and honorable, but alas, the country and the people lost itself after 9/11 and our 'leaders' betrayed that sacred trust, leading us into wars based upon lies, and who created partisanship and climate of fear and mistrust that this country suffers under today. Is their a chance that I'll say 'I love my country] again? Maybe, but a lot has to change before I'll be proud enough to say it again.
