Doctor Who Liveblog

Decided to rewatch last night's DW with the reveal at the end of the episode in mind. Largely coz i'm a geek and I like it when things still work when you rewatch...

Although, firstly, hands up who else thought the dream lord was the Master?!

Tardis is cold from the start, nice. Noticed that last night too.

"Trust nothing you see hear or feel." Does that get terribly relevant? Can't recall. [credits]

The Doctor gave Rory his dream career, wife, life. *That's* interesting.

Dream lord is dressed almost identically but short, balding, uncool and unbelievably critical of his own demeanour and style, everything is a facade? Interesting to compare this mentally itchy, twitchy distracted doctor to the person Tennant's doctor was becoming: he is hiding the aspects of himself that he fears with this eccentric, distracting persona?

Dream lord calls the doctor one of Amy's boys, so he *wants* to be Amy's?

Clue is there 'this is so you.' from Rory.

"There was an old doctor from gallifrey who was a massive disappointment who let down his friends" In a nutshell that isn't it?

"Oh I love it when you do that. Tall dark hero, 'leave her alone'." Sarcasm at his machoism? "Loves a red head." Warning Amy off from getting involved with him?

"There's only one person in the universe who hates me as much as you do" Oh Doctor! Honey!

"You big flop haired wuss" is that internalised homophobia aimed at his own...indeterminate sexuality?

"He always leaves you, alone in the dark, never apologises...he never will." that's an apology though?

"The only girl in the universe to whom the doctor tells everything, so what's his name?" He wants her to ask. If she is to turn out to be River Song does this mean the Doctor knows?

"Amy's men." Again with this. Is he frustrated or just being cruel to yet another young girl in love with him.

"Friends stay in touch but you never hear from them again once they've grown up. The old man prefers the company of the young does he not?" Ashamed he can't have a long term connection?

The look he shares with the dream lord no longer looks like he doesn't trust Amy's judgement, it's disappointment because she's picked Rory. And because his inner critic/the dream lord told him all along she wouldn't pick him, hence the thing about having no friends.

Oh! Amy asks "you don't really think any of that is true do you?" and he doesn't answer. I missed that yesterday. Oh my doctor! <3
